The Lunar New Year is one of our favourite times of year, because we get to share it with our amazing community.
See our gorgeous flying dragon display, which can be viewed across all three levels, or snap a selfie in front of our traditional dragon door display — but be careful not to wake the sleeping dragon!

Jin Wu Koon is one of Australia’s oldest troupes. Their incredible high pole lion and dragon dance performances are some of the most vibrant dances performed in the country — so we’re very lucky to be hosting them at Market City this Lunar New Year.
With three brilliant shows to witness and lots of gifts and giveaways, this is not one to miss!

Receive a hóngbāo from us

Visit Market City over the Lunar New Year weekend and get your own hóngbāo — also known as lai see or a lucky red envelope! We’re giving out almost 5,000 envelopes filled with collectable Year of the Dragon coins and unique gift vouchers as our present to you.
Join our store blessings

Each year, Jin Wu Koon performs store blessings to wish our community good fortune! Come take part in the celebrations as the festive lions and dragons spread joy through the centre.
Blessings will begin on Level 3 and move down to all retailers.
