Mid-Autumn Festival is back at Market City!

The Market City Mid-Autumn Festival (or ‘Moon Festival’) is back, bringing the community together to celebrate tradition, culture and the magic of the full moon. From lively performances to special giveaways, there’s plenty to enjoy throughout the centre.
Read on to find out how you can score free moon cakes, watch breathtaking high pole lion dancing and shop the largest moon cake sale in Australia.
Behold the giant moon display
All festival long, Centre Court
For the entirety of the festival, this spectacular custom giant moon will be suspended at the heart of our centre. The custom installation is surrounded by lanterns and clouds and features the jade rabbit in honour of Chang’e and Hou Yi’s legendary tale of love.
It’s the perfect spot for photos with friends and family, with the purple moon in the background making for an excellent phone screensaver!

If you love moon cakes, Thai Kee IGA’s pop up moon cake sale is the place to be this Mid-Autumn Festival. Prepare yourself for the largest collection of moon cakes, including classic and fun flavours, and all of your favourite brands. Located in the Centre Court, you’ll want to be quick – the most popular ones always sell fast!

Nothing quite says Mid-Autumn Festival like a moon cake… especially when they’re free! Spend $25* or more at any Market City store between Oct 1 and Oct 6 to receive a complimentary custom Market City moon cake.
Not sure where to spend your $25? Every fashion retailer and dining option counts towards the giveaway, so browse the range to find something you like. Simply present your receipt at the Information Desk to redeem your free treat!
But hurry, our giveaway ends on October 6 or when all moon cakes are gone.

Keep the freebies coming! When you spend $15 or more on a moon cake at Market City, you can receive a free personalised calligraphy lantern card.
Ask Madam Tot to handwrite your name, a short message or a simple drawing in her elegant golden ink. It’s the perfect 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival keepsake.
Watch the high pole dance spectacle
2pm, October 4–6
Centre Court, Level 1
Follow the sounds of the beating drums and crowds cheering in wonder for Jin Wu Koon’s world-class performances.
Having competed across China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, the team’s thrilling show includes lions leaping from one high pole to the next with incredible balance and skill.
Don’t miss your chance to witness the energy and artistry. The show only runs for three days though, so mark it in your calendar to avoid missing out!
Dine & park for FREE during the festival
With our 10 authentic Asian restaurants on level 3, why not enjoy the installations, events and giveaways, grad an amazing meal and park free? Some of our parking offers include:
- Enter the car park after 6pm, and exit by 1am. Validate your ticket at any level 3 restaurant of 25 Spices on the ground level.
- Between 9am – 3.30pm, receive two hours of free parking on Levels B2 & B3 when you dine at The Eight Chinese Restaurant.
